There’s a little pinata humor for you

For all you Arrested Development fans out there, Happy Cinco de Cuatro. To those of you who are Star Wars fans, May the Fourth be with you. To those of you looking for an excuse to break out the guacamole and tequila a day early, Happy Cinco de May Eve (enjoy your Taco Bell)!

Now that I’ve covered all my holiday bases, let’s get this blog post party started! A lot of great things are happening right now, and I’m ready to gush a little, so if you’ll indulge me, I’ll give you some tacos.

First things first-later this week, the exclusivity contract with my old publisher for Murder at Castle Rock will end, which is great news for Kobo and SmashWords readers because I’ll finally be able to upload the book on those sites for you! Stay tuned for updates as I’ll let you know on my site and Facebook/Twitter accounts as soon as it’s posted!

Second, Deadly Perception, the first book in the Darcy Harbinger series, is progressing nicely. While I’m still hopeful that I can find representation for the manuscript once it’s done (and then get it into bookstores across the country-i.e. AM’s Big Unattainable Dream), I am determined to get the book in your hands no matter what and am exploring some cover design options for a reveal really soon!

Next big (for me) announcement: Tomorrow I start an internship with the fabulous agent Paige Wheeler of Folio Literary Management! I won’t be posting about the experience on here but wanted to say that this is a HUGE opportunity for my understanding of and professional growth in the literary industry, and I’m BEYOND excited right now! It’s the next step toward living the dream, and I can’t wait to start learning

Last, and most certainly not least, I am thrilled to say that I will also be working on author marketing with Tandem Light Press here in Georgia! For those of you who have read Murder at Castle Rock, you’ve probably read my gushy thank-you in the acknowledgements to my wonderful editor, Caroline. Through Tandem I will be getting to work with her again, and I’ll get the chance to work with other authors to brainstorm cool marketing concepts for their books. I can’t wait to help other authors get their books into your hands!

So, for those of you keeping score at home, I’m now doing all of the following on a daily basis:

-Planning a wedding

-Writing a novel (or two…or three…)

-Rockin’ my awesome day job

-Interning for Folio Literary Management

-Marketing for Tandem Light Press

I’m going to need a lot of Starbucks iced coffee (and cake pops).
